4. Find two articles/videos that analyze the President's speech. One should be favorable (thinks he did a good job), the other not favorable (thinks he didn't do a good job). Compare/analyze the two. What were the President's strengths, weaknesses, triumphs, failures, etc. according to each. Do they ever agree/disagree? Which one do you agree most with and why? What sorts of rhetorical strategies do they mention him using? Did you pick up on those strategies? Do you see/hear any bias in the articles/videos? Does that affect their analysis? Answer all these questions and add any other insight you'd like to mention in a minimum of two paragraphs (8 sentences each). Email to me (along with the links to the articles/videos) by Thursday 1/24 @ 2:55.
Rhetorical Fallacy Group Project
11/2: Assign Project/Meet in class with groups and come up with a plan, assign tasks, decide on dates, etc.
11/9: Group meeting in class—you will have a sub this day, so you will have 45 minutes to check in with your group, reevaluate where you are, figure out what still needs to be done, etc. Please use this time wisely and don’t be rude to the sub. Keep it as quite as possible.
11/15: Video must be drop-boxed to Ms. Shelton by 6 pm: http://www.dropitto.me/msshelton Password: Eagles. This means you will have to do this from a home computer or download the drop box app. Do not wait until the last second to figure this out. Showing up 11/16 with an excuse that you couldn’t drop it for this or that reason will not be acceptable. You will fail the assignment. I suggest that more than one person keep copies of the video so that someone can get it dropped on time.

DESCRIPTIVE ESSAY FORMAT HELP
As requested here are some format tips for the descriptive essay.
1. Look at the "descriptive essay assignment" document below. The heading required for this essay should look exactly like the one on the assignment sheet. This also means that the header (the line at the top of the page) should only have your last name and the page number in it. To insert a header, click on insert, then header, then choose the header style you want. Tab until you are typing on the right side of the page and put your last name. Then space. Then insert, then page number, then current position. Then close header.
2. To double space, highlight the text you want to format, go to the paragraph menu, click on the little arrow to the right of the word paragph or (if in a younger version of word) the paragraph tool bar to see all the options. Find the option for "after" and change it to 0. Change the line spacing option to "double" change the special setting to "first line". See image below.
